Protein Bites or Bars

IMO The best way to snack is to eat a protein bite or two. I love these so much. My family loves them in the freezer and I have to say they are delicious right out of the freezer. If you need a high protein dessert or treat, make these. The bites are fast for a quick protein snack or breakfast. The bars are great as a hidden healthy dessert. 


Ingredients 

  • 2 scoops protein powder (I use chocolate)
  • 1 cup peanut butter (I use smooth) Peanut butter powder will work too
  • 1/4 cup chai seeds
  • 1 cup quick Oats (or any kind)
  • 1/4 cup Honey or Maple Syrup
  • 1/4 cup Mini chocolate chips in the balls or melted on top of bars
  • 2 T Water 


Optional:

  • M & M candies 
  • Coconut 
  • Flax seed
  • Krispie cereal

Directions: Mix all the ingredients together. It will be very dry but it should easily form a ball. I use a cookie dough scoop to scoop mine out and freeze them. 

To make into bars: place the entire contents of the bowl (minus the chocolate) and press in the 8x8 pan. Melt chocolate (and peanut butter too if desired) and spread on the bars. Chill before serving
