Taco Seasoning

Taco Seasoning

For years I would buy taco seasoning packets and for as often as we used it I would start buying the bulk size jar at Sam’s Club. It was so annoying when we didn’t have a packet or we were out of seasoning on taco night. I finally one day decided that it was time to just make my own and have made my own ever since. Believe me, this recipe is so easy and you probably have all the spices in your pantry. I bought a jar to make mine in and keep it in my pantry - when I’m running low, I just make more. Enjoy!

Jar I use on Amazon HERE

  • 4 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon salt, or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch (optional)
Tip: I never use the cornstarch
It’s used as a thickening agent and has no baring on the taste.

Combine all your spices in your jar and store in airtight container.

Use 2 Tablespoons per pound of meat and a 1/4 cup of water.
