Candied Pecans/Nuts

 Candied Holiday Nuts

If you’ve been around me for any amount of time, you probably know how much I love cinnamon and sugar combination of pretty much anything. Well those holiday nuts are no different and soooooo easy! 




Tip: Try these in your next salad


  • 1 pound pecans (or almonds)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/2 tsp salt (optional)
  • 2 tsp water

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees.

  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or non-stick foil.

  3. Mix the sugar, cinnamon and salt in a large ziploc bag.

  4. Whisk the egg white, vanilla and water with a fork in a large bowl until frothy. 

  5. Add the pecans (or almonds) to the egg white mixture and stir until they are well coated. 

  6. Pour the pecans into the ziploc bag, seal and shake until well coated with your cinnamon/sugar mixture.

  7. Spread them out on your prepared baking sheet into a single layer.

  8. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
