Dutch Oven Bread

You MUST TRY this recipe! It’s so super easy! It’s so easy you’re going to want to make this every single day for dinner! It will feel like you’re in a super nice restaurant serving toasty warm bread to your family.

In my video making this bread I showed my Pellet stove. It’s the warmest spot in our house. We had no idea what a pellet stove was until we moved to Northwest Arkansas. People have these in their home instead of a fireplace. It’s electric. We add pellets for it to burn and once it’s hot enough, the blower turns on and fills the room with heat. It’s very nice. It’s our main method to heat our home. It’s also the best place to put my dough to have it rise 😆. The top is not hot. It’s just a warm spot. If your kitchen is warm, you can leave your dough on the counter. We seriously leave our house around 63℉ in the winter and count on the pellet stove to compensate.

Dutch Oven Bread

  • 1 teaspoon yeast
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups hot water
  • 3 cups flour

Add 1 teaspoon of Active Dry Yeast to hot water. Stir and let sit for one minute. Add salt and flour: mix. Cover with damp towel and set for 7 hours to rise.
Use a little flour to make dough into ball. Spray bottom of Dutch oven with cooking spray and place dough in Dutch oven. Bake for 30 minutes covered at 425℉. Uncover turn on broiler to 500 for 3-8 minutes. Enjoy!

Tip: Place your dough in a warm (72℉) spot for 7 hours.
Tip: I use tap water. It needs to be hot but not boiling.
