Bowling Mix

I have so many memories of this long standing tradition mix in our home growing up. The recipe came from my parents bowling team and it came home with them and now we call it Bowling Mix. It is absolutely the best in the fall. It has the most wonderful smell with the warm honey and brown sugar with simmering butter. HELLO? How could you not make this every fall, winter and every other season? It’s such a great crowd pleaser.

Bowling Mix

  • 2 sticks butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup (I use light)
  • 1-2 teaspoons of vanilla
  • 1 box Crispex cereal
  • 1 cup pretzels (or more)
  • 1 can mixed nuts (optional)

Preheat oven to 250℉ degrees. Place butter, sugar, honey and syrup in sauce pan on medium heat. Don’t stir. Let boil for 5 minutes. Add vanilla. Stir. Pour over cereal mix and coat well. Place in oven for 1 hour. Stir every 15 minutes.

Tips:

• I use a foil pan

• I place it in a large plastic bowl that has an airtight lid to store.

• I don’t love nuts so I don’t always use them.

• Have you seen those cute tiny pretzels? I started using those!

• I use light corn syrup.
