About Me, Kirben

 Hello! I'm Kirsten. I got my nickname over 30 years ago because Kirben combines my first name and my maiden name together. I grew up outside of Chicago and love all kinds of food. I haven't always been so welcoming to try everything but everyone grows up eventually, right? I love almost all foods, but I don't like olives. I fell in love with cooking when I was in high school. I had a wonderful teacher, Mrs. Davidson, who loved to laugh in the classroom and make sure we were all having a great time. I still have so many memories of making some fun foods, demonstrations and so much more. I cooked for my family growing up too. My mom doesn’t love cooking like I do so eventually I took it upon myself to start making some of the meals for our family. 

As I have gotten older, I have enjoyed cooking for my little (little is relative) family now and our friends. I love to bake, cook, create and make food an art. Some things I make are practical and other things are artistic. I find it all a joy and relaxing. I hope I can inspire you to get in the kitchen and create too.
